This was a show that continues to reverberate - a show linking writing and making, a show borne out of Covid lockdowns. A group of artists isolated by lockdowns would meet up online early each weekday morning. Our task was to respond to a prompt and write as fast as we could, without thinking and without censure. It was a way of finding our way out of the greyness of Covid and ploughing ahead with our arts practices. Even though lockdowns are no longer, the innovator of this project, artist Amy Kennedy, recently revisited these sessions and they were still just as powerful. This work, Crevice, was made during Covid, it was about sand and rocks and the ocean and the beach - all places I couldn’t visit during lockdown.
